Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I was a competitive soccer player—until multiple knee injuries changed the course of my life. The physical setbacks were tough, but it was the emotional toll—losing my identity, facing anxiety, and rebuilding my confidence—that shaped my deeper understanding of mental health. That journey taught me resilience, the power of showing up when it’s hard, and the value of compassionate, whole-person care. Now, I help others navigate their own challenges with empathy, curiosity, and tools that empower healing from the inside out.
